To ramp up publicity for his concert, Aaron recently went on an online talk show to give an interview. However, he soon had netizens in tears when he revealed that he chose to hold the concert a day before Mother’s Day because he wanted to pay tribute to his late mother who passed away in February.
“My mother had influenced me so deeply. She had been so selfless, especially since my dad passed away in 1995. She supported my career all these years, he said. When I first started out as a dancer, the first person I told was my mum. My dad was very strict and he wanted me to work in our jewellery company, he hoped that I would take over the business after I graduate.
When I enrolled in training classes, she was the one who talked it out with my dad and convinced him to let me give it a try. From when I entered showbiz, as a dancer, a singer and an actor, she supported me all the way, he added.

But there’s one regret Aaron has to live with.
“Everyone hopes they can spend more time with their parents when they are old but because of my work, there were a lot of times I could not do that. I feel really sorry. However, I know that she is comforted by my achievements, he said, choking back his tears. By 50, I have fulfilled my mother’s wishes to see me get married and have two kids.
Aaron, who married Chinese model Moka Fang in 2017, also recalled how happy his mum was to carry her granddaughters in her arms. According to the star, when his second daughter Charlotte was born, his mum was already near the end of her life.
Then, my mum was feeling very exhausted. But no matter how tired she was, whenever I told her that my second daughter was looking at her, she would muster all her energy to smile at the baby, he said.
At the end of the interview, Aaron reminded his fans to do something nice for their mums on Mother’s Day.
“I hope everyone will watch this show. As my concert is one day before Mother’s Day, I hope you can return home to visit your mum and watch it together. Do something nice for your mum, treat her to a meal or pineapple buns, they are all ways to pay tribute to your mothers,” Aaron said.
